As expected Frosted came back from his vacation and started 2016 in a big way running the others off their feet in round 2 of the Maktoom Challenge. Always close to the slow pace, jockey William Buick let him roll turning into the stretch and he comfortably pulled away (once switching leads) to an easy win. Usually a closer I was surprised to see him so close, but one look at the splits of the race and you can understand why he was. You would think this race sets him up perfectly for the World Cup in the end of March.
On a side note I really liked Watershed’s race 2 after Frosted. While his stablemate Confrontation won the race I really loved to see him stretching out and closing well down the lane. With a little more pace I can see him running big in the Mile, with I’m guessing, the Met Mile his main spring goal.
